Holi is the time of the year where people are seen celebrating the festival with colours but unfortunately this year things won’t be the same. With COVID-19 in the picture dancing and colouring, one another won’t be the same, as the second wave of the virus seems to have started and it is important to maintain distance and keep everyone safe.

Following are some important steps to be kept in mind before celebrating Holi this year-
Evade hugs- The first thing to bear in mind is sanitization. In case you have a cough or cold, try avoiding physical contacts that include playing with colours or hugging. Even with the slightest symptoms of cough or cold amongst people around you, ensure you wash your hands and keep yourself sanitized always.
Avoid going out on Holi- People with the slightest symptoms of cough and cold should try avoiding going out to play Holi, as low immunity could be contagious. It would be feasible to stay home during symptoms of cough and the common cold.
Always wash your hands- According to experts, it is advisable to wash hands for 20 seconds. While washing hands, make sure that you clean between the fingers, back of the hand and under the fingernails. In case you are suffering from a cough or sneezing, be sure to use a mask.
Follow proper hygiene- While playing Holi, make sure you regularly wash your hands and adopt hygienic habits. After playing Holi, make it a point to wash your hands properly with soap and sanitize properly.
Avoid meeting foreigners and travellers- Major Covid-19 cases in India are related to travellers, hence try avoiding a meet up with people who have travelled recently.
