Considering the food habit of people in India a new interactive tool is launched which is referred as KNOW YOUR DIET. This tool is an initiative by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) on Tuesday. Food is an important part of our looks and our physical well being. It directly affects person health nut people are unaware about how to manage their diet plan to be physically fit. This tool enables people to know about whether they are eating healthy food or not.
At present scenario people are getting more addicted towards junk food and a being unaware about it consequences they are having it in plenty. Thus knowing the consequences of the food habit will help the person to minimize its taking. Chandra Bhushan, deputy director general of CSE, said at the time of launching this tool that it will help to strengthen Good Food movement in India.
The tool helps in :
- Awareness on food labels
- Relation between food and health
- A balanced diet
- Consumption of foods and beverages
- Effects of packaged, non-packaged and cooked outside home
Its hind version is called as Apna Ahaar Janein. In this tool person has to give answer to some questions related on food habit which is like a simple survey. Based on the answers their diet and food habit can be analyzed and balanced diet required by them can be predicted. There is no cost involved to access the tool.
Thos is an online tool which can be easily accessed at tabs, smartphones and laptops. For school children and adults the food habits are announced separately stated by Amit Khurana, senior programme manager, food safety and toxins, CSE.
CSE Director General Sunita Narain said: India needs a clear policy to promote good food. We cannot afford food that is bad for health and bad for the environment. This tool will help us push for better policy and practices on promotion of good food.
